An estimated 10,000 people will descend on the southwest corner of Coal County the second Saturday in September to attend one of the most popular auctions in the area.  The Amish School Auction, Crafts & Antique Show includes crafts, antiques, a bake sale, farm equipment, livestock, tack, collectibles and quilts.  Horses, poultry, farm-related items and plenty of homemade baked goods of every kind will also be available.

The auction takes place at the Ben Troyer farm, six miles south of Tupelo on State Highway 48.  Homemade quilts, antiques, glassware and furniture will be auctioned off.  This event is organized by a group of about 20 families of the Amish lifestyle, and approximately 200 booths will be set up.  Visitors to the Amish Auction, Crafts & Antique Show will be able to peruse numerous booths set up by Amish women selling sandwiches and homemade noodles.  So, pick up a tasty treat and enjoy lunch as you browse.  There will also be numerous pies, cakes, breads and a large assortment of goodies made by the Amish.

During the day, livestock, poultry, buggies, farm equipment and household items will be auctioned off.  In addition, more than 100 hand-quilted and pieced quilts made by Amish women will be available.
It always takes place on the second weekend in Sept.  Weather varies from hot & muggy to cold & rain you just never know .
